
Rome Gets 2-1 Victory

Rome, GA -The Rome Braves defeated the Charleston RiverDogs 2-0 in front of 2,396 fans at State Mutual Stadium Sunday afternoon. Rome salvages the final game of the three game series.
Charleston took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Dan Brewer. Pitching dominated the next four innings as Rome starter Paul Clemens went five innings allowing just one run and five hits while striking out five. The Braves scored two runs in the fifth to make it a 2-1 game when Joel Campusano scored from third on a ground out by Chris Shehan, and later in the inning Samuel Sime scored on a fielding error by Corban Joseph. The Rome bullpen held on to the lead the rest of the way to give the Braves the win.
Paul Clemens (3-3) gets the win for Rome, while Hector Noesi (2-4) was the loser for Charleston. Craig Kimbrel recorded his ninth save of the season.
