
Rollins Named Offensive Rookie of the Year

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association (UIF) is pleased to announce that Beef running back RJ Rollins has been named UIF Offensive Rookie of the Year for the 2006 season. Rollins finished the season by winning the league rushing title with 829 yards. Rollins also led the UIF in touchdowns scored with 26.
Rollins was honored as UIF Player of the week twice during the 2006 season as he was a consistent performer all year long on the 8-8 Beef team. Rollins also finished second on the Beef in receptions with 33 and led the team in all-purpose yards with 1580 yards gained this season.
Rollins played college football at the University of Minnesota-Crookston where he set many school records with 584 career rushing attempts for 3,043 yards and 29 TD's. Rollins also set school and NSIC single game records with 52 rushing attempts, 384 rushing yards, and 5 TD's. During his college career Rollins was named NSIC player of the week five times and twice named the NCAA Division II national player of the week.
Beef Head Coach Robert Fuller says, "RJ was our best, and most consistent performer offensively and is very deserving of the award. RJ worked very hard all season long and never missed a practice and we feel that is one of the reasons he was so successful as a rookie."
