Rojas Homer Not Enough in Loss to Erie

The Reading Fightin Phils dropped 5-2 to the Erie SeaWolves. Reading has lost a season-high eight straight contests.

Johan Rojas smacked a home run deep to left on the third pitch of the game. It was his second in Double-A, fifth of the season.

Dillon Dingler tied it up with a long ball of his own in the second.

Erie added another one in the fourth with Gage Workman's RBI single.

Reading manufactured a run in the sixth to tie it up at two apiece. AJ Graffanino led off with a double. Rojas's sac bunt pushed him to third and Wendell Rijo's sacrifice fly brought him home.

The SeaWolves ran away with it in the bottom half putting up three runs on two hits, a hit by pitch, and a R-Phils error. They led 5-2.

The R-Phils got two runners on in the top of the ninth, but couldn't push anyone home.

Colton Eastman pitched five innings out of the gate. He gave up two runs on five hits, striking out three.

McKinley Moore got two outs in the sixth but left with a runner on. The righty let up two hits and three runs, just one earned.

Adam Leverett forced a fly ball for the final out of the sixth and struck out the side in the seventh.

Brian Marconi pitched a 1-2-3 eighth.
