Rodriguez Awarded Eastern League Player of the Week

BOWIE, Md. - Bowie Baysox first baseman Aderlin Rodriguez has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of July 23rd-July 29th.

The 26-year old batted .412 (7-for-17) with one double, three home runs, seven RBIs, eight runs scored, one walk, and a 1.000 slugging percentage in five games last week. Rodriguez, who is a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, had multiple hits in three of the five games he played in last week and kicked off his week by hitting a home run in three consecutive games from July 23rd-July 28th.

The 6'3", 210 lb. slugger led all Eastern League batters in slugging percentage (1.000) and OPS (1.421) last week and tied for the league lead in runs scored (8) and home runs (3). He also finished ranked among the weekly league leaders in RBIs (7-tied 2nd), total bases (17-tied 4th), extra-base hits (4-tied 5th), and batting average (.412-6th).

Rodriguez is hitting .271 with 17 home runs, 60 RBIs, and 52 runs scored in 96 games for the Baysox this season. He has hit .317 with 14 home runs and 43 RBI's since the start of June.
