Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release
Wilmington, DE - The Wilmington Blue Rocks just cannot escape the wrath of Mother Nature at Frawley Stadium. After losing nine openings due to inclement weather in 2009, the Rocks had their second game affected by wet weather in 2010. Wilmington's contest with the Kinston Indians on Wednesday night was rained out, and will be made up as part of a doubleheader between the two teams on Thursday night. First pitch of the opener is slated for 5 p.m.
The Blue Crew had its home opener suspended due to rain on Friday night.
The pitching matchups will remain the same for Thursday's twin-bill. In the first of the two seven-inning contests Wilmington sends southpaw Chris Dwyer (0-1, 5.63) to the hill and Kinston counters with Alex White (1-1, 0.00). In the nightcap, Blue Rocks right-hander Alex Caldera (0-0, 3.12) will oppose Kinston left-hander T.J. House (0-2, 4.50). Caldera's piggyback partner Ivor Hodgson, Jr. will pitch of the bullpen.
Wilmington will celebrate Earth Day at the park on Thursday in "Going Green Night" at Frawley Stadium. For tickets call 302-888-BLUE, or visit bluerocks.com.
