
Rockland beats Worcester in 11 Innings on Walk-Off Squeeze Bunt

It took eleven innings, but Rockland outlasted the Worcester Tornadoes 3-2 Saturday evening at Provident Bank Park.
Orlando Mercado drove in the game-winning run with a walk-off safety squeeze bunt that knocked in Ryan Scoma, who doubled to lead off the inning.
Pat Moran pitched eight solid innings for the Boulders, surrendering only two runs on five hits while striking out ten. The lone Worcester runs came on two solo home runs by Alex Trezza in the fourth and seventh innings respectively. Trezza has four home runs in the first two games of the series.
Zach Zuercher equaled Moran's performance for Worcester. The lefty gave up only two runs in his eight innings of work.
Rockland scored its first two runs with a pair of sacrifice flies, one in the sixth by Keith Brachold and another in the eighth by Ryan Mollica.
Adrian Martin (1-2) picked up the win in relief with two scoreless innings, while Kyle Regnault (0-4) took the loss.
The teams have split the first two games of the weekend series and the rubber match is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. Dan Jurik (1-1, 7.31 ERA) goes for the Boulders, while Ryan Bicandoa (0-2, 6.65 ERA) takes the mound for Worcester.
