Rockford win streak ends at Great Lakes

Birch Run, MI- The Rockford Lightning faced off against the Great Lakes Storm in a rare 10:05 a.m. Monday morning affair in Birch Run on Monday. Rockford battled the Storm in a back and forth battle, but fell short to the Eastern Conference leaders 115-108.

Rockford's Brant Bailey continued the play that earned him Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors, as he led the Bolts. Brant shot 10 of 16 from the floor and 4 of 5 from the free throw line to tally up 24 points in the loss. Brian Lubeck had a double-double; along with his 15 points he hauled down 11 boards to lead in the rebounding category for the Lightning. Stais Boseman dished six assists for the Bolts in the game, and in his first game since joining the Lightning, Jarrod Gee shot 4 of 9 from the floor and finished with 11 points. Great Lakes was led by Jermaine Jackson, who tallied 26 points in the Storm victory. Great Lakes nabbed 5.5 quarter points from the Lightning in the contest.

Rockford travels to the Walker Arena in Muskegon to face off against the Michigan Mayhem on Tuesday night, February 8. Rockford and Michigan have not played one another since December 28; a 96-93 victory for the Lightning at the Rockford MetroCentre. Tip off time for Tuesday night's game is at 6:05 p.m. in Muskegon. Then, the Lightning return home to battle the Dakota Wizards, who currently sit atop the CBA's Western Conference, on Thursday, February 10. All kids 12 and under with a paying adult are half-price.
