
Bailey and Jackson earn Player of the Week honors

Boise, ID (February 7, 2005) â The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Rockford Lightning guard Brant Bailey was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, while Sioux Falls Skyforce guard David Jackson was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the week of January 30 â February 5.
Bailey posted 25.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last week as he led the Lightning to a 2-0 record, and a current four-game winning streak. He also added 1.5 assists per game, while shooting 73.0 percent (17 of 23) from the floor, 79.0 percent (23 of 29) from the free-throw line, and 33.0 percent (1 of 3) from the three-point line. In a 123-121 (4-3) victory over the Eastern Conference leading Great Lakes Storm, Bailey notched 21 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists. The following night, he posted 29 points and five rebounds as he led the Storm to a 141-135 (5.5-1.5) victory in triple overtime against the Gary Steelheads.
Sioux Falls guard David Jackson earned his first Player of the Week honor this season after posting 24.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, as the Skyforce went 2-2 during the week. He also added 3.2 assists and one steal per game, while shooting 49.3 percent (36 of 73) from the floor, 87.5 percent (14 of 16) from the free-throw line, and 41.0 percent (11 of 27) from behind the three-point line. In a 116-115 (4.5-2.5) victory over the Idaho Stampede, he notched 24 points, six assists and two steals.
On the season, Jackson is averaging 16.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in 15 games played (13 starts).
Other players receiving consideration were Great Lakes' Ezra Williams (25.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg), Michigan's Charles Gaines (19.0 ppg, 10.0 rpg), Dakota's Bryant Notree (17.0 ppg, 5.6 apg), and Idaho's Britton Johnsen (21.0 ppg, 6.6 rpg).
