Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL- The Rockford Lightning have earned yet another honor, as Brant Bailey has earned CBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for January 30-Feburary 5. This is the second Player of the Week honor for the Bolts this season, as Bailey joins Stais Boseman, who won for the week of December 12-18.
The 6-7 forward from Wisconsin-Stevens Point averaged 25.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in Rockford's two games last week, helping the Lightning to a 2-0 record for the week. Bailey's totals involved shooting 73.0% (17 of 23) from the floor and 79.0% (23 of 29) from the charity stripe. In Rockford's comeback win over the Great Lakes Storm on January 31, he posted a double-double with 21 points and ten boards, and in the Lightning's 141-135 triple overtime win over the Steelheads on February 1, Bailey scored 29 points.
"I'm happy that Brant won Player of the Week; it speaks well for him and the organization, as he was one of our free agent campers over the summer," says Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo. Bailey was joined by Sioux Falls' guard David Jackson, who won Western Conference Player of the Week honors.
The Rockford Lightning make their return to the MetroCentre to face off against the Western Conference leading Dakota Wizards on Thursday, February 10. All kids 12 and under with a paying adult will be half-price. Following Thursday's game, there will be a post-game party at J-Bears Place, located one block south of the MetroCentre. To order your tickets, call the MetroCentre box office at 815-968-5222.
