
Rockford ends February unbeaten after four-game sweep

The month of February closes out this week, but the Rockford IceHogs wish it could keep going. The Hogs swept four games during Week 20 of the United Hockey League season and finished the month 12-0-1. Rockford took three straight in Elmira over the weekend and will play its final two-game week in Week 21 with a pair of home games.

Transaction:
-Winger Nicolas Corbeil was re-assigned from Milwaukee (AHL) on Saturday, Feb. 22
-Winger Nicolas Corbeil was placed on team suspension on Saturday, Feb. 22
-Winger Paul Brown was activated from the 7-Day IR on Friday, Feb. 23
-Winger Chaz Johnson was loaned to Rochester (AHL) on Friday, Feb. 23
-Goalie Jake Moreland was activated from the 14-Day IR on Wednesday, Feb. 21
-Goalie Dayne Pyfer was removed as emergency goaltender on Wednesday, Feb. 21
Bacon Bits:
Rockford is unbeaten in a club-record and UHL season-high 13-straight games (12-0-1).
The IceHogs have won seven-straight games overall and are also unbeaten in nine-straight (8-0-1) road contests, one shy of the club record.
The IceHogs went 12-0-1 in the month of February.
The 12 wins in February is a club record for most wins in a month. Rockford won 10 games in January 2005.
Center Mike Doyle tied a club single-season record on Sunday in Elmira, netting his sixth game-winning goal of the season.
Center Kevin Ulanski tied an IceHogs single-season record on Sunday, tallying his third short-handed goal of the season.
Since Dec. 22, Rockford has a record of 24-3-3, a winning percentage of .850.
Winger Jason Ralph has nine multi-point games in the 21 games in which he has played this season.
In the 21 games that Ralph has played in, the IceHogs have a record of 19-0-2.
Hogs goalie Frederic Cloutier finished February with a record of 11-0-1, a save percentage of .930 and a goals against average of 1.83.
Hot Hog Week 20:
The IceHogs offense continues to plug along with some of its top scorers out of the offense and winger Jason"ËRalph has been a big reason why. Ralph registered two points is each of the IceHogs four games during Week 20. Overall, the winger had a goal, seven assists and a plus/minus rating of +7.
Upcoming Games:
Friday, March 2 vs. Port Huron Flags. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The Flags and Hogs hook up for the final time this season when they meet at the MetroCentre. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive IceHogs Poster #6 from Pepsi, Medicine Man, Johnson Press and the Rockford Register Star.
Saturday, March 3 vs. Quad City Mallards. The puck is slated to drop at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs host its Eighth Annual Jersey Auction for charity as the archrival Mallards return to Rockford. The Hogs will don commemorative jerseys that will get auctioned off immediately following the game. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick-up an IceHogs T-shirt featuring Hammysaurus Rex courtesy of Axberg Heating, Saturn of Rockford, Ameriprise Financial and Dental Dimensions.
Also, before both games, the IceHogs will host a United States Hockey League game between the Chicago Steel and Sioux City Musketeers. The game on Friday, March 2 starts at 3:30 p.m. and the contest on Saturday, March 3 will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets purchased for either game is good for both the IceHogs and Steel contests.
No HogTalk This Week At Shooter's North:
There will not be a Bud Light HogTalk on"ËMonday, Feb 26 at Shooter's North due to the IceHogs travel schedule. The show will return on Monday, March 5 at 7p.m. The show is hosted by WXRX's Jim Stone and Double T and features IceHogs Head"ËCoach Steve Martinson and a pair of IceHogs players.

Final IceHogs Free Family Thursday At The Discovery Center:
It's the final IceHogs Free Family Thursday of the Year on Thursday, March 1. The IceHogs mascot Hammilton E. Hog will be in attendance as well as an IceHogs player at the Discovery Center in Rockford from 2-5 p.m. Families can get into the Discovery Center for free on Thursday from 1-5 p.m. and fans can register to win IceHogs gifts and prizes. Fans can also purchase IceHogs tickets at a discounted rate.
