RockFord's Jason Ralph and Frederic Cloutier earn weekly UHL honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Rockford IceHogs right wing Jason Ralph has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Rockford IceHogs goaltender Frederic Cloutier has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 25th, 2007.

Ralph completed the week with eight points (1g, 7a), four penalty minutes and a plus-7 rating in four games played. He recorded two points in four straight games including two-assist performances twice against the Elmira Jackals and once against the Kalamzoo Wings. He also scored one goal and tallied an assist in a 4-2 victory over the Jackals on Saturday. It is his first weekly honor of the season, and the 28-year-old native of Carp, Ontario, is averaging over a one point per game in 21 games played this season with the IceHogs (6g, 17a).

Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Bloomington forward Jon Booras, Chicago forward Matt Johnson, Elmira left wing Dan Veenema, Flint right wing Jan Jas, Fort Wayne center Bruce Richardson, Kalamazoo left wing Nick Bootland, Muskegon center Todd Robinson, Port Huron defenseman Shayne Tomlinson and Quad City forward Luke Stauffacher.

Cloutier finished the week with a 3-0-0 record, a 1.33 goals against average (GAA) and a .946 save percentage (.SPCT). He made 29 saves to record his second shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory at Elmira on Friday. He made 28 saves in a 5-2 win over Kalamazoo on Wednesday and 13 saves in a 4-2 win over the Jackals on Saturday. It is the fifth weekly honor for the 25-year-old native of Saint-Honore, Quebec. Cloutier is unbeaten in 12 straight games (11-0-1) and is on a six-game winning streak.

Other goaltenders nominated for the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week include: Bloomington's Jeff Reynaert, Chicago's Brenden Cuthbert, Elmira's Kris Tebbs, Flint's Bryan Worosz, Fort Wayne's Kevin St. Pierre, Kalamazoo's Tom Askey, Muskegon's Ryan Cyr, Port Huron's Dustin Traylen and Quad City's Jason Tapp.
