Rockford IceHogs News Release
Muskegon, Mich.- The Rockford IceHogs dropped a 4-1 contest Sunday afternoon to the Muskegon Fury at the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Michigan. The Hogs fell in a 3-0 hole mid-way through the game and only solved Muskegon goalie Sylvain Daigle once in the loss.
The Fury grabbed a 2-0 lead mid-way through the first period to open the scoring. Center Colin Embley chipped in the first marker past Michel Robinson at 7:17 for the 1-0 lead. Later, winger Robin Bouchard picked up a pass that deflected off of Hogs winger Chris Gobert, and fired it in for the 2-0 advantage.
In the second frame, the Fury extended their lead to 3-0 when Clay Wilson slid one past Robinson at 8:40. The Hogs, frustrated by Daigle all afternoon, nailed their only tally of the game at 13:11of the period when winger Terry Harrison shot home a Nathan Lutz rebound.
Muskegon, however, put the game out of reach in the third period after winger Rustyn Dolyny scored the final goal of the game at 14:46. Rockford was out-shot 23-21 and neither club converted any of their power play opportunities.
Next Home Game: Friday, April 8 vs. Kalamazoo Wings. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Hogs entertain the Wings for the final time during the regular season. The game is the Sixth Annual MDA Jersey Auction. The Hogs and the MDA will be Rockin' the 80's! The first 1,000 fans will receive an IceHogs T-shirt featuring this year's MDA IceHogs logo, courtesy of Axberg Heating Company, 13WREX and Q98.5 FM.
