WHL Kelowna Rockets

Rockets Host Royals Wednesday in Race for 1st Place

March 14, 2016 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release

With just three games remaining in the WHL regular season, the Kelowna Rockets still have a shot at placing first overall in the WHL and in the Western Conference.

But it all depends on a Wednesday night battle between the Rockets and Victoria Royals at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Tickets are available for the game through www.selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.

The Rockets (46-19-4-0) trail Victoria (47-16-3-3) by four points for first place in the WHL Western Conference with both teams having three games remaining in their regular season.

The Rockets are also tied at 96 points with the first place team in the WHL Eastern Conference, the Brandon Wheat Kings, who also have three games remaining in the regular season.

After Wednesday's game, Kelowna will play Vancouver twice this coming weekend, in Vancouver on Friday and in Kelowna on Saturday to close out the regular season.

Victoria plays a home and home against Everett this weekend, while Brandon finishes its season with games against Swift Current, Moose Jaw and Regina.

The Rockets will open the WHL playoffs at home on Friday March 25 and Saturday March 26. Single game playoff tickets are also on sale through Select Your Tickets.
