Kelowna Rockets News Release
The Kelowna Rockets doubled the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-2 on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna as the Rockets held its annual Pink Power Night in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Four different Rockets hit the scoresheet, including Zach Franko, who scored a highlight reel goal in the third period, to give the Rockets some insurance en route to the win.
Dylen McKinlay, Colton Heffley and Tyson Baillie also scored for the Rockets, who won both games this week at Prospera Place before heading out on a four game road trip through Alberta.
Jordon Cooke earned the win in net, making 29 saves including a couple of huge stops with the score 4-2 late in the third period.
The win pushes the Rockets record to 6-5-1-0 on the season after two wins at home this week.
The Rockets will now head to Alberta for four games in five nights starting on Wednesday when they play Medicine Hat. After an off day Thursday the club will play Red Deer, Edmonton and Calgary in a three day stretch next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Rockets next home game is Nov. 1 at Prospera Place when they begin a stretch of four straight at home against the Kamloops Blazers.
The Rockets pink jerseys were auctioned off at the game and several other fundraisers were held. Final totals from the Pink Power Night won't be officially known until everything is tabulated. All proceeds will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
