April 20, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Rochester Red Wings News Release

Rochester Red Wings (8-8)

HIT ME: The Red Wings banged out a season-high 11 hits for the 2nd time, matching their Opening Day effort at Syracuse (Nationals).

START STRONG...FINISH STRONG?: The Red Wings won their 4th series-opening game in 6 tries...despite the success in those contests, Rochester has went on to win just one of its first 5 series.

DO THE DREW: Drew Butera's 2-run double in the 5th accounted for his first RBI since Opening Day, April 5 at Syracuse (Nationals).

EXTRA! EXTRA!: Tsuyoshi Nishioka's 5th-inning triple was his first extra-base hit of the year.

THE RIZZ: Matt Rizzotti went 2-for-4 for his 3rd multi-hit effort in his last 4 games.

BACK-TO-BACK JACKS: P.J. Walters surrendered back-to-back homers to Derrick Mitchell and Tuffy Gosewisch in the 3rd inning...that marked the first time the Red Wings have given up back-to-back homers since July 21, 2011, when Andrew Baldwin yield consecutive homers to Durham's (Rays) John Matulia and J.J. Furmaniak.

THAT'S TENSE: Fifteen of the Red Wings' 16 games have been decided by 3 runs or less.

Lehigh Valley IronPigs (11-5)

NOT-SO ELECTRIC SLIDE: The IronPigs have lost 3 of their last 4 since a 6-game winning streak.
