HOME, SWEET, HOME—The Red Wings continue their eight-game homestand tonight with the second game of a four-game series vs. Buffalo. Rochester will play Buffalo through Sunday before finishing the eight-game homestand with a four-game series vs. Richmond Monday-Thursday.

*WHAT'S NEWS*

STOP BOWYER TIME—Red Wings closer Travis Bowyer has been very impressive during the month of May, going 0-1 with nine saves and a 1.69 ERA in 11 games. In 16.0 innings of work, Bowyer has allowed just three runs on eight hits while walking eight and striking out 24. Bowyer has allowed just three runs in his last 17 appearances and opponents are batting just .145 (8-for-55) against him in the month of May.

FOURTH INNING FIREWORKS—The Red Wings offense has really flourished in the fourth inning this season, outscoring opponents 40-19 in the fourth frame. Those 40 runs account for 18% of the runs the Wings have scored this season.

DUCKS ON THE POND—Rochester has really struggled hitting with runners in scoring position the last three games batting just .130 (3-for-23). The Wings were 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position during yesterday game. Rochester left a season-high 13 runners on base yesterday.

HAPPY DAYS (IN THE DIVISION) ARE HERE AGAIN—Rochester goes into tonight's game with a 17-14 record against North Division opponents this season. Since the IL went to three divisions in 1998, Rochester has not had a winning divisional record (last winning divisional record was 1997 when the Wings played in the IL East division).

I NEED SOME ROLAIDS—The Wings bullpen struggled in the last nine games, going 1-0 with four saves and a 7.15 ERA. In 22.2 innings of work, the bullpen allowed 19 runs (18 earned) on 23 hits while walking 11 and striking out 21.

THIS PLATE IS MADE OF CHINA—The Red Wings offense has scored just 19 runs (2.4 runs per game) the last eight games. Rochester has scored three or less runs in six of those eight games. For the season, the Red Wings have scored three or fewer runs 18 times (4-14 record in those 18 games).

DON'T SHUT ME OUT—The Red Wings have yet to be shut out this season. This is the longest the Wings have gone into a season (46 games) without being shut out since 1990. In 1990 the Wings didn't get shut out until their 64th game (3-0 loss at Omaha). The losing pitcher for the Wings that night was RHP Curt Schilling.

MORE WING TIPS

HOT AND COLD OFFENSE—In the Red Wings 24 wins this season, Rochester has batted .321 (255-for-794) while holding their opponents to a .240 (185-for-770) batting average.
