LET'S GAIN SOME GROUND: The Rochester Red Wings tonight begin a 3-game series vs. International League North Division leader Lehigh Valley (Phillies). After tonight's opener, the 2 teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow on the final day of action before the All-Star Break. Gametime is 12:05 p.m. and the doubleheader will include two 7-inning games. The Red Wings started the 6-game homestand by winning 2 of 3 against North Division rival Pawtucket (Red Sox).
a The Red Wings open at home after the All-Star Break, hosting Toledo (Tigers) for 4 games next Thursday-Sunday. Toledo is the only team the Red Wings have yet to face in 2012.
RECENT ROSTER NEWS: The Minnesota Twins on Wednesday optioned first baseman Chris Parmelee to Triple-A Rochester. The Twins also promoted right-handed pitcher Samuel Deduno, whose contract was selected yesterday in order to start tonight at Texas. Also for Rochester, righthander Deolis Guerra was placed on the 7-Day Disabled with right shoulder tendinitis and righthander Dan Sattler was transferred from Double-A New Britain.

Righthander Dan Sattler last night became the latest addition to appear in a game for the Red Wings. The 2011 Rochester club had 56 players appear in at least one game, including 28 pitchers.
RED WINGS...FOR THREE!!: The Red Wings have won 2 games in a row and tonight looking for their first winning streak of more than 2 games since a season-best 4-game winning streak June 6-9. The Wings are 12-14 since that 4-game run. Rochester also won a season-high 4 straight games May 3-5.
