The IronPigs (51-37) play Game One of a three-game, weekend series against the sixth-place Rochester Red Wings (40-47) at Frontier Field. With an 8-1 loss last night, the Pigs split the two-game "road" series against Scranton/W-B, 1-1, to finish 8-4 in their 12-game span at Coca-Cola Park. The Pigs have won five of their last seven games and, since June 8, have gone 20-11 in their last 31 contests to go from 4.5-games out to 3.0-games up in the North... The Red Wings -- Minnesota's top affiliate -- won last night 3-1 to take a three-game, home series against Pawtucket, 2-1 (after splitting a two-game series at McCoy Stadium). The Wings have won five of their last seven affairs and, since starting 20-30 on May 28, are a more impressive 20-17.

LHP Tom Cochran (5-1, 3.68) will start for LHV against RHP Liam Hendricks (5-0, 1.94).

First-pitch is at 6:05 p.m... The Pigs will conclude the "first-half" with a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12:05 p.m...

WITH A WIN TONIGHT, THE PIGS WILL...:

* Avoid dropping back-to-back games for the first time since losing 3 straight to conclude its series in Columbus, 6/23-25.

* Tie their season-best, high-water mark of 15 games above .500 for the 3rd time (LHV was 50-35 on 7/3; 51-36 on 7/5).

* Tie, with a PAW loss, set a new season-largest lead in the North Division at 4.0 GA --.their highest since 4.0 GA on 7/27/11.
