BURNING RUBBER: The Rochester Red Wings tonight play the finale of their 3-game series vs. Pawtucket (Red Sox), continuing a 6-game homestand that leads into the All-Star Break. The Red Wings started the homestand by losing Wednesday's opener 7-4 and winning last night's affair 6-4. The Red Wings tomorrow begin a 3-game series with Lehigh Valley (Phillies) that includes a doubleheader Sunday to wrap up the unofficial first half of the season.

a Sunday's doubleheader begins at 12:05 p.m. and will include two 7-inning games.

a The Red Wings open at home after the All-Star Break, hosting Toledo (Tigers) for 4 games July 12-15. Toledo is the only team the Red Wings have yet to face in 2012.

ROSTER NEWS: The Minnesota Twins yesterday optioned first baseman Chris Parmelee to Triple-A Rochester. The Twins also promoted right-handed pitcher Samuel Deduno, whose contract was selected today prior to their game at Texas. Also in Rochester, righthander Deolis Guerra has been placed on the 7-Day Disabled with right shoulder tendinitis and righthander Dan Sattler has been transferred from Double-A New Britian.

a Parmelee appeared in just 11 games (4 starts) for the Twins after being recalled from Rochester June 7. He went 5-for-19 (.263) with 2 homers and 2 RBI in his 2nd stint with the big league club. The 24-year-old opened the season with the Twins and was optioned to Rochester May 15.

a Deduno went 1-2 with a 2.14 ERA in 9 starts with the Red Wings. He went 1-1 with a 1.04 ERA (3 ER/26.0 IP) in 5 starts after returning from the 7-Day DL June 7. He missed a month and a half of the season with right shoulder tendinitis. Deduno is the 15th player, the 10th pitcher, from Rochester to get promoted to the Twins.

a Guerra, who started the season with New Britain, went 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA in 18 appearances with the Red Wings. He allowed 13 runs in 11.2 innings in his last 7 games.

a Sattler posted one save and a 2.03 ERA in 5 appearances with New Britain after starting his Twins' career with 3 games at Single-A Fort Myers. He is the 11th player, the 8th pitcher, from New Britain to make the jump to Rochester.

LET'S REHAB: Righthander P.J. Walters tonight makes his 2nd rehab start since being placed on the 15-Day Disabled List June 14 with right shoulder inflammation. He also pitched for the Red Wings Sunday vs. Empire State (Yankees), allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 4.0 innings.

a Walters is the 2nd Twins player to rehab with the Red Wings. Nick Blackburn made 2 starts May 29 vs. Charlotte (White Sox) and June 3 vs. Columbus (Indians).

NOT OVER THE HILL: The Red Wings last night picked up win No. 40 in their 87th game. Rochester didn't pick up their 40th win in 2011 until its 104th game, or 17 games later. The 2010 club, meanwhile, didn't pick up their 40th victory until its 112th contest. The 2012 Wings are the quickest to reach the 40-win plateau since the 2009 squad got win No. 40 in its 82nd game.

a Speaking of 40, Luke French has allowed 40 runs in 57.2 innings with the Red Wings, Jeff Manship has allowed 40 hits in 46.0 innings with the Wings, and the injured Anthony Slama has a 0.40 ERA in 20 games with Rochester.

LET'S GO STREAKING: The Red Wings are 3-2 in July and 11-14 since a season-best 4-game winning streak June 6-9. The Wings haven't won more than 2 games in a row since that 4-game streak, which tied a season high from May 3-5. Rochester is 26-24 beginning May 15, however, after opening the season 14-23.

DEFENDING HOME TURF: The Red Wings are 28-22 at Frontier Field and are unbeaten in 11 of their 14 series here. Rochester needs a win tonight in the rubber game vs. Pawtucket to avoid just their 4th series loss at home. One of the series losses came against the PawSox April 11-13, when they dropped 2 of 3 games. Since losing 2 of their first 5 series at Frontier, the Red Wings have lost just one of their last 9 sets along Morrie Silver Way.

IN NEED OF A PICK-ME-UP: Red Wings' starting pitchers are winless in the last 10 games, going 0-4 with a 4.81 ERA (23 ER/43.0 IP) in that time. The most-recent win by a starter came June 25, when Cole De Vries defeated Charlotte at Frontier Field.

a Red Wings' starters are just 4-11 with a 6.01 ERA (73 ER/109.1 IP) in 25 games beginning June 10, the day after Liam Hendriks's last start with the club before getting recalled to Minnesota. Rochester starters are 21-28 with a 4.18 ERA (199 ER/428.0 IP) overall.

a The Red Wings' bullpen, meanwhile, has 19 wins, just 2 shy of the starters' total.

YOU WERE A SAINT: With today's addition of Dan Sattler from New Britain, the Red Wings now have the first 2 players ever signed by the Twins out of the St. Paul Saints of the independent American Association. Thielbar was born in Northfield, MN, which is 45 miles south of Minneapolis. Sattler was born in Lafayette, IN.

THIS DATE IN TWINS' HISTORY: In 1995, the Twins trade Rick Aguilera to the Red Sox in exchange for Frankie Rodriguez and a player to be named (J.J. Johnson).
