Distillery Postgame Party: Fans can come out to the Mt. Hope Distillery following tonight's game for the Amerks' official Postgame Party. Come enjoy good food and good times.
Head-to-Head: Rochester swept the two-game season series in 2006-07 to improve to 5-2-1 all-time against the Wolves. The Amerks head to the Windy City on December 13th to complete the season series for this season.
Amerks Notes: The Amerks had their winning streak snapped at four games last night as they fell 4-0 to the Syracuse Crunch at Oncenter in Syracuse. Adam Dennis made 28 saves, but it was not enough as the Amerks' offense failed to find the back of the net. The shutout marked just the second time that Rochester has failed to score this season. With the loss, Rochester fell to 7-8-1-1 on the season, good enough for third in the North Division and 11th in the American Hockey League. Amerks goalie Adam Dennis leads the AHL with 335 saves and 691 minutes played. He owns a 3.04 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. Winger Mark Mancari leads Rochester's current roster with 11 assists and 13 points. Among active players, center Marek Zagrapan leads the team with seven goals.
Chicago Notes: The Wolves have earned at least one point in every game so far this season, and they own the top spot in the West Division and the second best record in the AHL at 10-0-1-0. Much of their success this season has come from solid defense and goaltending; Chicago has allowed a league best 21 goals in its 11 games this season. Goalie Fred Brathwaite boasts a 1.96 goals-against average (3rd in AHL), a .934 save percentage (4th in AHL) and he leads the league with eight wins. Winger Jesse Schultz leads the Wolves with seven goals and 13 points. His point total is matched by center Steve Martins who leads his team with 10 assists. Defenseman Brian Fahey leads the Wolves and is tied for second in the league with a plus-10 rating.
Next Game: The Amerks will play game two of their current four-game homestand on Friday, November 16th as they take on the Rockford IceHogs at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. game will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.
Amerks' Go-Kart Challenge: On Saturday, November 17th, the Amerks will hold their first ever Go-Kart Challenge at Indoor Track Speedway (775 Elmgrove Rd., Gates). The event, which will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., will feature the unique opportunity for fans to race go-karts against their favorite Amerks for just $6.00 a race. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to benefit AIDS Rochester. To compliment the racing, the event will also feature a number of silent auctions for sports memorabilia, including autographed jerseys, sticks and photographs. Further, fans will be able to collect their own autographs from the players and coaching staff when they're not busy burning rubber on "Rochester's very first indoor go-kart track."
Pucks and Plates: The Rochester Amercians will kickoff their "Pucks and Plates" events at The Original CharBroil House on Thursday, November 15th. Rochester captain Drew Larman will sign autographs and greet fans at 6:30 p.m. The appearance is the first of six this season at the location at 1395 Island Cottage Road in Greece. Fans can also win tickets to upcoming Amerks games. The next appearance is on Thursday, December 6th. The Original CharBroil House has been family owned & operated since 1943. Catering is also available for any occasion by calling (585) 663-3860 or going online to charbroilcatering.com.
