Amerks fall to Wolves in shootout

(Rochester, November 11)...The Rochester Americans fell to the Chicago Wolves 2-1 in a shootout tonight at The Blue Cross Arena. Rochester's Tanner Glass had his team's lone goal in regulation with the assists from Rob Globke and Dylan Hunter at 6:40 of the first period. It was Glass's second goal of the season. He now has four points on the year (2+2).

Chicago tied the game with a power-play goal with only 43 seconds left in the game by Steve Martins with the assists from Alexandre Deveaux and Jason Krog. The Wolves were 1-for-10 on the power play. The Amerks only had five power play opportunities and were 0-for-5.

After a scoreless overtime, the Amerks' Marc-Andre Gragnani was the only one to score during shootout for Rochester. Chicago's Krog evened out the shootout and Kevin Doell scored the final shootout goal for the win.

David Shantz made 39 saves in the game to earn first star honors, while Chicago's Robert Gherson made 24 saves in his first start of the year.

The Amerks will play game two of their current four-game homestand on Friday, November 16th as they take on the Rockford IceHogs at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. game will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.
