Moose recall Kelly; Re-assign Colombe to Victoria

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have recalled defenceman Matt Kelly from the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL. The Moose also announced they have re-assigned defenceman Patrick Coulombe to the Salmon Kings.

Kelly, 22, has played in eight games so far this season with the Salmon Kings where he's collected five assists and 14 penalty minutes. In 67 career games with Victoria, the Tottenheim, ON native has now scored nine goals and 20 assists for 29 points and 54 penalty minutes. Kelly appeared in three games with the Moose back in 2006 after completing a four-year career with the Belleville Bulls of the OHL and signing an amateur tryout contract with Manitoba on April 5/06. In those three games, Kelly picked up an assist.

Coulombe, 22, appeared in two games with the Moose after being recalled Nov. 3/07. In five games so far this season with Victoria, the Ste-Fabien, Pq native scored the overtime winning goal in the Salmon Kings season opener, Oct. 19/07 at Idaho. In 43 games with the Moose in his career, Coulombe has scored six goals and nine assists for 22 penalty minutes. He has also played in one career Calder Cup playoff game last season. Coulombe also played in seven games last season with the Vancouver Canucks where he collected an assist and four penalty minutes. Coulombe was originally signed to an AHL contract by the Moose back on July 11/06.
