Robak Set To Rejoin Wheat Kings

Brandon, Manitoba -- The Brandon Wheat Kings could have a familiar face back in the lineup Saturday night when they close out a 2-game season opening weekend series againt the Pats in Regina.
The National Hockey League's Florida Panthers have announced that 19-year old defenceman Colby Robak has been reassigned to the Western Hockey League club and is expected to rejoin the team in Regina.
A second round draft choice of the Panthers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, the Gilbert Plains Manitoba product was in the Panthers' lineup Friday night when Florida dropped a 4-0 pre-season decision to the Oilers in Edmonton.
The 6'4" 207 lb Robak is entering his fourth WHL season and is coming off an outstanding season that saw the former Parkland Ranger AAA Midget scored thirteen goals and 42 points in 65 games. As well, he was one of three Wheat Kings that participated in the National Junior Selection Camp this past summer.
Despite Robak's return, the Wheat Kings still have five players away at NHL Training Camps, including first round picks Brayden Schenn (Los Angeles) and Scott Glennie (Dallas). Others include Matt Calvert (Columbus), Alexander Urbom (New Jersey) and Finnish right-winger Toni Rajala (Edmonton). A first round pick by the Wheat Kings in this summer's Canadian Hockey League Import Draft, Rajala continues to recover from an off-season knee injury that he sustained in Europe.
Following tonight's game in Regina, the Wheat Kings, who dropped their 2009-10 season opener last night in Prince Albert, will return home to prepare for Friday's Home Opener at Westman Place.
