
Roadrunners swept by San Angelo

EDINBURG, Texas-The Edinburg Roadrunners were swept by the San Angelo Colts after a rain shortened 5-1 loss in five and two-third innings Friday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Travis Calloway gave the Colts the lead in the top of the second with an RBI single that allowed Landon Camp to score making it 1-0.
In the top of the third, Ronnie Gaines led off with a solo home run, his 17th of the season. Cory Patton then reached on an error and then two batters later came into score on an RBI single by Camp pushing their lead 3-0.
San Angelo added two more in the top of the fourth with an RBI doubles by Gaines and Daryl Jones that made it 5-0.
The Roadrunners got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Stantrel Smith led off with a double and then came into score on an RBI double by Brandon Wilkerson which cut the Colts lead 5-1.
Brian Henschel (6-5) got the win after allowing one run on four hits while Edinburg starter Tim Haines (0-1) got the loss after allowing four runs in six innings and striking out eight.
The game was called in the bottom of the sixth after rain fell for 15 minutes.
The Roadrunners start a four-game series Saturday night with the McAllen Thunder at Edinburg Baseball Stadium. Jorge Quintero is expected to pitch for Edinburg with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
