
Road Warriors Take Series with 2-1 Win

Bridgewater, NJ - The Road Warriors defeated the Somerset Patriots 2-1 before 6,112 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night.
The Road Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning on an error that allowed Adrian Ortiz to score after leading off the inning with a single.
The Road Warriors added to their lead in the sixth after Melvin Dorta scored on a fielder's choice by Michael Mooney for the 2-0 advantage.
The Patriots got on the board with a run to cut the lead in half in the bottom of the eighth inning after Joe Holden scored on an error following a single by Norris Hopper that made the score 2-1.
Road Warriors starter Kelvin Villa (5-9) picked up the win, scattering four hits and seven strikeouts over six scoreless innings pitched. Patriots starter Bill Pulsipher (3-6) suffered the loss, allowing a run on four hits in five innings pitched. Adam Thomas earned his 16th save of the season for the Road Warriors.
The 2011 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Saturday, September 3rd when the Patriots take on the Long Island Ducks at 7:05 pm.
