
Road Warriors Swap Forwards with Hartford

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced forward Shawn O'Donnell has been recalled from loan by Hartford, while forward Josh Nicholls has been reassigned to the team from Hartford by New York.
A second-year pro, Nicholls made nine appearances for the Road Warriors this season and earned nine points (4g, 5a), six penalty minutes and a +1 rating. At the time of his call-up on November 22nd, he had recorded points in five of his last seven games (4g, 3a) including his first-career three-point effort (1g, 2a) November 21st in Toledo. The 22-year old notched one assist in five games with the Wolf Pack.
A native of Tsawwassen, British Columbia, Nicholls spent the majority of last season with Greenville, where he finished fourth on the team in goals (20) and fifth in points (42) while playing 63 games. He also played six games with Hartford during his rookie campaign in 2013-14.
Prior to turning pro, the 6'2, 186-pound forward spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Saskatoon Blades from 2008-2013. In 332 career games, he produced 313 points (138g, 175a) and 206 penalty minutes. Nicholls was drafted in the seventh round (#182 overall) by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
O'Donnell signed an AHL contract with the Wolf Pack on July 22, 2014 and skated in three games with Hartford to begin the season, recording 17 penalty minutes. During his time in Greenville, the 26-year old registered eight points (3g, 5a), 19 penalty minutes and a +5 rating in 12 games. He collected a career-best four points (2g, 2a) on November 29th at Reading and also set an ECHL season-high with a +6 rating in the contest.
A second-year pro out of St. Mary's University, O'Donnell made 57 appearances with the Wolf Pack during his rookie campaign in 2013-14 and earned 10 points (3g, 7a) and 85 penalty minutes. He debuted with the Florida Everblades near the beginning of the 2012-13 season and produced four points (1g, 3a) in five games. He also chipped in two assists and 17 penalty minutes in 12 playoff contests with Florida.
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, O'Donnell played four seasons of Canadian University hockey at St. Mary's University. In 103 career games, the 6'1, 192 pound forward totaled 62 points (24g, 38a), along with 84 penalty minutes.
