Alaska Aces News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - Sebastian Collberg needed a go-ahead goal with 2:57 left in regulation to help the Stockton Thunder sneak past the Alaska Aces, 5-3 on Saturday before 4,622 fans at Stockton Arena.

The loss for the Aces ended their ECHL best seven-game winning streak, who were aided on goals by Chris Francis, Olivier Archambault and Quinn Sproule. They fell to 6-2-0 in the season series while Collberg, Ryan Constant and James Henry each recorded multi point games.

Austin Levi's wrister from the slot put Stockton ahead, 1-0 just 1:55 into the game on a power play, answered shortly after by Francis' power play strike on a rebound at the left circle with 4:42 elapsed. The Aces then carried a 2-1 lead into the dressing room after 20 minutes after Olivier Archambault slammed a one-timer past Kent Simpson from the right circle at 10:37, on a set-up by Raphael Bussieres from the left corner.

Peter Sivak, left open at the left circle, buried his seventh goal of the season just 53 seconds into the second period for a 2-2 tie. Shawn Boutin followed by drifting deep into a play that set-up Stockton's go-ahead goal, 3-2 at 12:24 when he finished a rebound at Niklas Lundstrom's blocker.

Just 29 seconds later and with the Aces penetrating Stockton's zone with speed, Sproule leveled the game when he finished Archambault's cross-ice feed from the left circle.

Collberg scored the eventual winner after the Aces squandered a chance to sustain pressure in the offensive zone with less than three minutes to play. Keith Seabrook feathered a pass up the right wing to Collberg, who dangled around the defense and finished a wrister from the right circle.

Tyler Shattock sealed the game with an empty net goal, at 5-3 with 52 seconds to play.
