CAMDEN, NJ ‚¬"The Camden Riversharks have announced the signing of former Philadelphia Phillies' third baseman and World Series champion, Pedro Feliz. He will join the ‚¬ËœSharks 2011 roster this season, also as a third baseman.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco Giants in 1994, Feliz made his Major-League debut with the Giants in 2000 at the age of 25 and stayed with the club for seven seasons.

In total, Feliz played eleven seasons in Major League Baseball and was a part of the Philadelphia Phillies 2008 World Series title. Feliz has a career .250 average with 140 home runs and 598 RBIs in his eleven year career while playing for San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, and Saint Louis Cardinals.

The Dominican Republic native had his best season in 2004 with the Giants, hitting a .276 batting average with 22 home runs and 84 runs batted in.

"It is a great to have a player with Pedro's Major League background, not only throughout the county but right here in this area, as being a part of a championship club," said Riversharks Manager Von Hayes. "He should be able to help us out tremendously this season."

The Camden Riversharks return home tonight for a three game series against the Somerset Patriots. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call 1-866-SHARKS-9 or visit us online at http://www.riversharks.com www.riversharks.com.
