NEWS AND NOTES

Where they stand...The Rivermen currently sit in sixth place of the West Division with 70 points. Peoria is now just seven points back of fourth-place Milwaukee for the final playoff spot. The Rivermen have two games in-hand on both San Antonio and Houston who are also vying for that playoff berth.

Production swap...The Rivermen are averaging 3.43 goals per game over their last seven contests in which they have gone 4-2-1. They had scored just 2.33 goals per game over their previous six.

On the road again...The Rivermen started a seven-game road trip in Milwaukee last Sunday. It is their longest trip of the season. The Rivermen will play 7 of their last 13 games away from home. They are 13-15-1-4 on the road so far this season and 2-2-1 so far on their current trip.

Draz doubles up...Nicholas Drazenovic picked up two goals on Friday against Houston. It was his second two-goal game in the past nine after being held to one or fewer in the first 57 of the season.

Lovers Quarrel...Mitch Love's fight with J.P. Testwuide on Friday was the 100th regular season fight of his five-year AHL career. He has 13 this year after leading all of professional hockey with 34 fights last season with Houston.

Making up ground...Of Peoria's 13 remaining games, only nine of them are against West Division opponents. Wednesday will be their final head-to-head matchup with San Antonio while they see Milwaukee two more times (April 2, 6) both on the road.

Best of the West...The West Division is the only division of the AHL in which all teams have a winning percentage of over .500. The 68 points earned by seventh-place Houston is the most among any last place team in the league and the 22 points between first and last in the West is the fewest between pair in the other divisions.
