Week 25 begins series of three two-game weeks
Week 24 Recap The Rockford IceHogs hit a road block to kick off Week 24, but rallied back on Saturday and Sunday to finish it off 2-1-0-0. The squad kicks off three straight two-game weeks with a weekend set against Peoria and Texas. Rockford is one game into a season-long seven-game home stand that stretches over 22 days.

Bacon Bits: -With Rockford's 6-3 win on Saturday, Corey Crawford became the winningest goalie in IceHogs history
-He now has 71 wins in his IceHogs career, while J.F. Rivard recorded 69 between 1999 and 2003 in the UHL era
-Rockford converted on three of nine power play opportunities on Saturday, marking the first time since Jan. 2 the team has notched three goals on the advantage
-The IceHogs are tied for the league lead with 14 empty net goals after adding two more in the 6-3 win on Saturday at Manitoba
-With the win, the IceHogs finished the season 9-4-0-0 on the road against teams in the North Division
-Rockford has won their last two shootouts to even their season series at 3-3 in shootout games in 2009-10 by beating Houston 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday
-The shootout win gives Rockford a season-high six straight wins at home
-Danny Bois became the ninth different IceHogs player to notch double digit goals (10) on the campaign after he tallied markers on Saturday and Sunday
-IceHogs Head Coach Bill Peters matched his win total (40) from last year, his first professional season
-Rockford's 24 wins at the Rockford MetroCentre is an all-time high for an IceHogs team in the AHL era
-Winger Pete MacArthur is currently riding a career-long seven-game point streak (2g-5a)
-The IceHogs have a -11 goal differential in the second period, but outscored opponents 5-4 in the middle frame during Week 24
-Corey Crawford turned away a Yan Stastny penalty shot on Saturday
-Rockford goaltenders are perfect in the three penalty shots faced this season
Hot Hog Week 24: Center Matt Keith saw his four-game goal scoring steak come to an end but he extended his point streak to seven games during Week 24. Rockford's center tallied four points (1g-3a) in three games over the weekend and now shows nine points (4g-5a) in his last seven. Keith registered Rockford's lone goal in a 6-1 loss at Manitoba on Friday. The seventh year pro then notched his fifth multi-point game of the season with two helpers on Saturday and chipped in an assist in the IceHogs 3-2 shootout win over Houston on Sunday.
Upcoming Games: Friday, March 19 vs. Peoria Rivermen: Game time is 7:05 p.m. The first 3,000 fans to pass through the gate will get one of three a IceHogs player figurines. The players featured are Mike Brennan, Evan Brophey and Jake Dowell. Plus, the IceHogs are giving away five game worn jerseys from the 2009-10 season. All jerseys will be drawn at random and fans can sign up to win at the game. The IceHogs jerseys to be given away on March 19 include Matt Keith, Daryl Boyle, Ryan Flinn, Jack Skille and Brian Connelly.
Saturday, March 20 vs. Texas Stars: The Rockford IceHogs will host the Texas Stars at the Rockford MetroCentre at 7:05 p.m. It is the final meeting between the two teams in Rockford and seventh of eight on the season. The first 5,000 fans into the arena will receive an IceHogs car flag courtesy of U.S. Cellular.
The IceHogs Broadcasting Network: Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular-and post-season games on the Hogs' flagship radio station Rockford's Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with AHL Live! Visit the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the "click here to watch the AHL Live" icon, and for just $7 you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. Also, fans with Comcast Cable television in Rockford can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. Bud Light Hog Talk Tonight At Hooters: Bud Light Hog Talk at Hooters near State and Perryville in Rockford resumes tonight. Fans can join WXRX's Jim Stone from 6-7 p.m. most Mondays as he chats with defenseman Mike Brennan, forward Kyle Hagel and assistant coach Ted Dent. Stop by and take advantage of some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can't make it, tune into 1330 AM, WNTA.
