Peoria Rivermen News Release
Rivermen Head Coach Jason Christie announced today that he has signed center/winger Ryan Finnerty. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound rookie from Lethbridge, Alberta was a pleasant surprise last season. He managed to score 16 goals, 11 assists and added 109 penalty minutes in 53 games. Finnerty came to Peoria from the South Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League.
The signing of Finnerty brings the number of player signings to five for the Rivermen, who are beginning their 7th campaign in the East Coast Hockey League. Other players already signed with Peoria are former Rivermen Goaltender Duane Derksen, center Tyler Rennette, right winger Kevin Malcolm, and center Dean Tiltgen. The regular season will begin on Friday, October 11 when the Rivermen take on Toledo on the road. Peoria's first home game will be on Friday, October 18 when they host the newest NW Division team, Lexington.
