Worcester IceCats Select Equipment Manager

WORCESTER, MA - Worcester IceCats President and General Manager John S. Ferguson today named Joel Farnsworth head equipment manager for the American Hockey League (AHL) club.

Farnsworth comes to Worcester from Hartford, where he served as assistant equipment manager with the Wolf Pack. The New England native began honing his skills at the University of Vermont, while obtaining a degree in biomechanical engineering. He was the student equipment manager with the Catamount's men's program for two seasons and was subsequently invited to direct the department after graduation.

Farnsworth managed the needs of both the men's and women's hockey teams from 1997 until 2001. In addition, the 27 year old gained valuable experience at the Gutterson Field House in Burlington, working the New York Rangers training camps for six seasons.

The Worcester IceCats will open the season at Worcester's Centrum Centre on Saturday, October 19th. A full schedule is expected to be available in August. Season ticket packages are on sale now at the new IceCats offices, located at 105 Commercial Street in downtown Worcester.
