Rivermen Rowe Past Wranglers 4-2

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers lost to the Peoria Rivermen 4-2 Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Marty Johnston led the Rivermen with two goals and an assist in the victory. Randy Rowe added his league-leading 23rd goal of the year. Wranglers forwards Justin Kelly and Doug Wright each scored in the loss. Las Vegas has a rematch with the Rivermen on Saturday night at 7:05.

Doug Wright gave the Wranglers a 1-0 lead scoring on a rebound off a shot by Jason McBain at 4:36 of the first period.

In the second period, the Rivermen tied the game at one on a goal by Marty Johnston who scored off a rebound at 14:18. Peoria took a 2-1 lead when Johnston scored his second goal of the night, with 47 seconds left in the period.

The Wranglers tied the game 2-2 when Justin Kelly beat Peoria's Mike Valley at 10:51 of the third period. Kelly took a pass from Chris Kenady and chipped in his 12th of the year. Randy Rowe's goal on the power play gave the Rivermen a 3-2 lead with 17:59 to play. Peoria's Scott Turner added an empty-net goal to give them the 4-2 victory.

Las Vegas will host the Peoria Rivermen Saturday night at 7:05 pm. Saturday night Las Vegas will giveaway 2,000 player card sets sponsored by Dr. Afshin Azimi, DDS.
