Peoria Rivermen News Release

PEORIA, IL - Peoria Rivermen Assistant General Manager for Corporate Partnerships Mickey Gray has announced he will be leaving Peoria to start as the Vice President for Business and Hockey Operations with the expansion Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, who are scheduled to begin play next season in the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Gray, 30, is a graduate of Lincoln College with a degree in Business Administration and has been with the Rivermen front office since their inaugural SPHL season of 2013-14, and had previously served as Director of Game Operations for the Bloomington Blaze, Central Illinois Drive, and Bloomington Edge.

"On behalf of the entire Rivermen ownership group, I can't thank Mickey enough for his tireless efforts and loyalty over the past three years," said Rivermen co-owner Bart Rogers on Thursday.

"We started this journey in the SPHL with literally nothing to the team's name on day one, and to see what it has been built back up to in a short amount of time on the business side is a true testament to Mickey as well as the other front office staff members who have worked so hard to get to this place."

Rail Yard Dawgs owner and president Bob McGinn said the Roanoke ownership group is excited to have Gray as a part of their front office.

"Our ownership group knows how important it is to get this step in the process right. We need someone with minor pro hockey front office experience who sees our vision for the Rail Yard Dawgs. We cannot afford to miss the mark. Trust me when I say that Mickey is exactly what we are looking for. His ideas, suggestions, and proven leadership skills that he has already displayed to us are off the charts."

Single-game and season tickets for Peoria's 34th season of professional hockey are on sale at the Toyota Box Office in the Peoria Civic Center, or by phone at the Rivermen office, located at 201 S.W. Jefferson Street, or over the phone at (309) 676-1040.
