Peoria Rivermen News Release

Peoria, IL (May 31, 2007) - The American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews and the league's Board of Governors announced today the schedule format and alignment for the 2007-08 season. The format for the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs will be released at the AHL's Annual Meeting next month.

The Peoria Rivermen will call West Division of the AHL's Western Conference home again this season, along with the Chicago Wolves (Atlanta), Houston Aeros (Minnesota), Iowa Stars (Dallas), Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville), Quad City Flames (Calgary), Rockford IceHogs (Chicago), and San Antonio Rampage (Phoenix). Last year, the Rivermen finished fifth in the West Division with a 37-33-2-8 record (84 points), just four points away from a post-season berth in its second season as the top affiliate of the St. Louis Blues. Quad City is the relocation of Calgary's Omaha, Neb. franchise, while Rockford debuts as Chicago's top farm team in 2007-08.

Peoria will face 12 different opponents from around the AHL this year, featuring 62 of its 80 games against division opponents. Rivermen fans will be treated to five visits from Quad City, Chicago, and Iowa, and four each by Houston, Milwaukee, San Antonio, and Rockford.

Outside of the division, the Rivermen will face the Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit) three times home and away, two games home and road against the Manitoba Moose (Vancouver) and Lake Erie Monsters (Colorado), and appearing once each way with the Rochester Americans (Buffalo/Florida) and Hamilton Bulldogs (Montreal).

Rivermen full season ticket packages are on sale now for as little as $395 per seat! Heat up your winter with Peoria Rivermen hockey action by calling Wendy Mitchell at 309-680-3763 to reserve your place today.

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. The 2007 Calder Cup Final series begins Friday night, with Hershey and Hamilton battling for the 71st American Hockey League championship.
