May 31, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release

In conjunction with the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies announced Thursday their 2007-08 regular season schedule format which sees the team welcome five opponents to Ricoh Coliseum for the first time. Toronto will play host to each of the league's three new franchises on at least one occasion as the Rockford IceHogs (AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks), Quad City Flames (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) and Lake Erie Monsters (AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche) enter their first season in the American Hockey League. The Monsters join the Marlies in the North Division and will play their home games out of Cleveland, Ohio's Quicken Loans Arena.

The Marlies will also oppose two existing AHL teams for the first time in their history when they battle the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers) and Albany River Rats (AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes) in what will be their third season in Toronto. Other Eastern Conference foes include Philadelphia (twice), Hershey (twice), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (twice) and Binghamton (four times). The B-Sens are the lone non-North Division team which the Marlies will play on more than one occasion in each of the team's home cities this season.

The AHL's North Division remains virtually unchanged with the lone exception being Lake Erie's addition. The season series between Toronto and Western Conference champion Hamilton remains at 12 games (six in each home city) while the Marlies face Grand Rapids, Rochester, Syracuse, Manitoba and Lake Erie on eight occasions (four in each home city).

Toronto will travel to seven of eight of the West Division's cities (Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, Milwaukee, Des Moines (Iowa Stars), Moline (Quad City Flames) and Rockford) while hosting each of these clubs in Toronto on one occasion. In all, the Marlies will take-on 19 of 28 potential opponents as the league grows to an all-time high of 29 teams in advance of the AHL's 72nd regular season.

The 2007-08 AHL regular season schedule will be announced later this summer. Still to be determined however is the 2007 Calder Cup Champion. The Final gets underway on Friday evening in central Pennsylvania when the Hamilton Bulldogs visit the Hershey Bears in Game 1 of the championship series.

Father's Day package, in conjunction with Toronto FC, are also available for purchase. For ticket information, including priority seating, visit www.torontomarlies.com or call the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK.
