Rivermen Acquire Three from Milwaukee

Peoria Rivermen General Manager and St. Louis Blues Assistant General Manager Kevin McDonald announced the Rivermen acquired forward Jani Lajunen (pronounced: YAH-nee LY-uh-nen) from the Milwaukee Admirals in exchange for defenseman Scott Ford today.

The team has also acquired forward Andre Bouvet-Morrissett (pro: boo-VAY moor-EE-set) and goaltender Zoltan Hetenyi (huh-TEN-ee) from the Admirals in exchange for future considerations. Both players are currently playing in the ECHL and are not expected to join the Rivermen at this time.

Lajunen, 22, has appeared in 40 games posting five points including a goal and four assists for the Admirals this season. Overall, the 6'2, 212-pound forward has spent the past two seasons in Milwaukee totaling 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 115 games. The Helsinki, Finland native was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the seventh round (201st overall) of the 2008 Entry Draft.

Ford, 33, has served as the Rivermen captain this season and returns to Milwaukee where was the Admirals' captain last season. This year he posted six points including two goals and four assists in 43 games with. The 6'3, 217-pound defenseman will be returning to Milwaukee where he played for four seasons prior to joining the Rivermen. Ford is a native of Fort St. John, BC.

Bouvet-Morrissette, 21, has appeared in two games this season with Milwaukee. Currently a member of the Cincinnati Cyclones, Bouvet-Morrissette has two assists in 20 games at the ECHL this season. A native of Becanquor, QC, the 6'3, 193-pound forward is in his first professional season after leading Drummondville in goals (39) last year.

Hetenyi, 24, is playing in his first season in North America after playing professionally last season in Finland. Recently assigned to the Orlando Solar Bears, Hetenyi has played 13 games this season with the Cyclones. The native of Budapest, Hungary has posted a 5-4-0-2 record with a 2.43 goals-against average and 0.913 save-percentage. He attended the Nashville Predators training camp in January.
