The Abbotsford Heat will conclude a five-game road trip against the Chicago Wolves (AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks) on Wednesday night at the Allstate Arena in Greater Chicago.
The Heat (29-20-3-4) are winless thus far on their twelve-day road trip and are looking to snap a season high four-game losing streak. The Wolves (24-16-4-3) have lost three of their last four games. The Heat have two wins, four losses and a shootout loss against the Wolves this season through the first seven games of their season series. Wednesday's match-up concludes the eight-game season series.
Ben Walter has recorded four points in his last five games and is tied for the team lead with 31 points this season. Walter has recorded 10 goals and 21 assists this season, while co-leader Ben Street has 12 goals and 19 assists.
Barry Brust has started six of the last seven Heat games with Danny Taylor up with the Calgary Flames. Leland Irving has not started since being assigned by the Flames on Saturday, as he has been dealing with flu like symptoms. Brust is second in AHL with five shutouts this season.
The Wolves are led by veteran forward Darren Haydar who has 33 points through 42 games. Haydar has posted four goals and two assists in his last six games and is the AHL's active all-time points leader with 764 points over 745 games.
The Heat will return home to face the Charlotte Checkers on February 22nd and 23rd to close out a spell of 14 games over 24 days - their busiest stretch of the season. Friday night is Country Night at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre (AESC), featuring hotdogs for a dollar and beer for two dollars. On Saturday night, Canadian war hero Master Corporal (retired) Paul Franklin will drop the puck prior to the game to promote the Heroes Hockey Challenge.
