LAFAYETTE, La. - The Mississippi RiverKings (23-15-2) scored three unanswered goals in the second period and beat the Louisiana IceGators (20-16-5), 4-2, Friday night at the Cajundome, giving the RiverKings seven straight wins.

With the RiverKings playing their first game since Feb. 7, nearly a two-week layoff, the IceGators grabbed a 1-0 lead less than four minutes into the first. Jeremy Boyer finished a rebound in front off a Kirk Byczynski shot at 3:42 to get the game's first goal.

Mississippi settled in and took command in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals to take the lead. Dmitry Peremikin, making his RiverKings debut, started the run for the RiverKings with a slap shot from the right point. The goal, coming at 2:14 of the second, was Peremikin's first as a pro, in his second North American pro game. Midway through the second the RiverKings took the lead with a power-play goal at 10:23. Matt Whitehead fed a pass to Andrew Randazzo, who took a shot from the center point which was deflected by Linden Bahm for his 10th goal of the season. Later in the period, Bahm got his second goal of the game by spinning a shot in from the slot.

The IceGators controlled play in the third period trying to overcome a 3-1 deficit. Adam Courchaine made save after save in the third until Adam Stuart deflected in a puck from the left post with less than four minutes to play, making it 3-2. The RiverKings iced the game when Devin Mantha scored with an empty-net goal with 23 seconds to play.
