SOUTHAVEN, Miss.—Memphis RiverKings forwards Brad Mueller and Trent Dickson stopped by Wendy Cox and Kim Jordan's class at Walls Elementary School on Thursday for a quick lesson on hockey and to sign some autographs.

The 4th grade students got a big surprise when Mueller and Dickson walked in.

"We didn't tell them that the RiverKings were coming," Cox said. "We just told them that there would be a big surprise. It was definitely worth it to see their faces light up. They were so surprised, and really just delighted."

Most of the students were very quiet when the players walked in but soon warmed up to them.

Mueller and Dickson read "Z is for Zamboni" and then answered some questions about what it was like to play hockey.

Some questions included, how many players are on your team? Does it hurt when you slam into the wall?

After reading the book, the players stuck around to sign some autographs and take pictures.

"It's great when the players spend time with the kids," Cox said. "These kids have seen them play but when they come to their classroom, it's up close and personal."
