SETTING THE STAGE: Tonight's game in Indy will be the fourth of seven meetings this season between the Brahmas and the Ice...Fort Worth is 1-1-1 against the Ice this year, losing their last meeting to Indy by a 4-2 score on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 in Fort Worth...The Brahmas are 6-4-5 all time against the Ice, including a 3-2-3 record in Indy.
FORT WORTH NOTES: The Brahmas have lost their last two games in a row, falling on the road to Oklahoma City by a 4-2 score last Saturday night and then losing 5-3 in Bossier-Shreveport this past Tuesday night...This will be the fifth game of a season high seven game stretch of road games for the Brahmas...Fort Worth's lineup will be bolstered tonight by the return of left wing Chad Woollard...Woollard, the Brahmas leading scorer this season with 32 points, was reassigned to Fort Worth on Wednesday from the St. John's Maple Leafs of the AHL...Two new Brahmas, defensemen Scott McCallum and Stefan Katalina, will make their Fort Worth debut tonight against the Ice...Right wing Joey Bastien has scored a goal in three of his last four games played, and center Jeremy Vanin has at least one point in his last three games.
INDIANAPOLIS NOTES: The Ice are currently tied for fifth in Northern Conference with the Wichita Thunder with 50 points on the season...Indianapolis and Wichita are just one point behind the New Mexico Scorpions in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot in the North...Indy, however, is struggling, as they are winless in their last five games (0-4-1)...The Ice have three major offensive weaponsâcenter Dave Gilmore leads the club in goals with 23, d-man Bernie John leads the Ice in assists with 40, and winger Jason Baird leads the team in points with 55 (19G/36A)...Jeff Sanger (14-13-1) is the main man in net for the Ice.
NEXT UP FOR THE BRAHMAS: The Brahmas will stay in Indy this weekend and take on the Ice tomorrow night, Saturday, February 7, at 6:00 p.m. CST at the Pepsi Coliseum...Fort Worth will then play in Laredo next Wednesday morning, February 11th, at 11:00 a.m...The Brahmas will return home next weekend, February 13th and February 14th, for a pair of home games against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and Memphis RiverKings respectively...For additional information, please contact the Brahmas office at (817) 336-4423.
