Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

The Indianapolis Ice rallied from a 4-2 third period deficit to come all the way back and beat the Fort Worth Brahmas 5-4 in overtime Friday night at the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Right wing Joey Bastien was the offensive star in the game for Fort Worth, scoring two goals and assisting on two others. Also finding the back of the net in the contest for Fort Worth were second year forwards Justin Williams and T.J. Warkus.

Warkus scored 1:04 into the final period to put Fort Worth seemingly in control of the game with a 4-2 lead. The Ice however, would not be denied. Forward Jared Dumba drew the Ice to within 4-3 at the 5:39 mark of the third period, and then Dumba tied the game at 4 with his second goal of the game with just 53 seconds remaining in regulation.

In the overtime period, Indy's All Star defenseman Bernie John netted the game winner 2:38 into the extra session.

This was the third time in four games this season between the Brahmas and Ice that the outcome was decided in either overtime or a shootout. Fort Worth has lost two out of those three games (1-0-2).

Tyler Nilsson, the Brahmas standout rookie goaltender, allowed the five Ice goals on 45 shots. Indy netminder Brent Zelenewich stopped 28 of the 32 Brahmas shots he faced in the game.

The overtime loss drops the Brahmas record to 13-24-7 on the season, while Indy improves to 25-19-2 for the year.

Fort Worth will look for a little revenge tomorrow night when they take on the Ice again at the Pepsi Coliseum. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
