LAREDO, Texas – The Central Hockey League announced yesterday afternoon that Laredo Bucks forward Jeff Bes has been selected as the Sherwood CHL Player of the Month for January. Bes led the Bucks, who have the best record in the CHL at 37-5-4, to an 11-0-2 record in January. In 13 games he scored 10 goals, had 22 assists and 32 points and was plus 15.

"We have been very fortunate with the way things have gone for our team," said Bes. "It's a nice honor that I share with my teammates. Playing with Brent Cullaton and Chris Grenville on a line has been great and we have really clicked."

Bes had three game winning goals during the month and has recorded points in 21 straight games. He leads the CHL with 89 points.

Bes had a hat trick on Tuesday in the Bucks 5-1 win over Austin as Laredo recorded their CHL record setting 16th straight home win. Bes has recorded both of the Bucks hat tricks this year.

Early this season Bes was selected the Player of the Week. Chris Grenville and Serge Dube have been selected as CHL Players of the Week while Bes joins Brent Cullaton and Patrik Nilson as Bucks honored as prior CHL Players of the Month.
