RiverKings to Visit CTC Tomorrow
March 2, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Join us at the CenturyTel Center tomorrow night as the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs take on the Mississippi RiverKings in a key Northeast Division matchup at 7:05, presented by International Used Truck Center of Shreveport.
Entering the final month of the 2008-09 Central Hockey League regular season, the Mudbugs and RiverKings are battling one another for positioning in a tight Northern Conference playoff race. With just ten games remaining in the season, Bossier-Shreveport, Mississippi and Oklahoma City are all vying for the Northeast Division title, not to mention the number one seed in the conference, which is currently occupied by Colorado. The 'Bugs trail the RiverKings by three points heading into Tuesday's game, but the teams still have six more head-to-head matchups before the regular season winds down.
The Mudbugs have posted a solid 5-1 record against Mississippi so far this year, outscoring them 23-11 in those five wins. Bossier-Shreveport won all of the first three meetings between the teams before the 'Kings handed them a 6-0 defeat at the DeSoto Civic Center on New Year's Eve. Since then though, the 'Bugs came back to win 5-3 in Bossier City on January 6 and then earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory in Southaven, Mississippi on January 27. That win came just about 15 hours after the Mudbugs had defeated Laredo in a home game the night before.
Following Tuesday's game, Bossier-Shreveport will host the Wichita Thunder on Friday night before taking on the RiverKings again on Saturday at the CenturyTel Center. Both of this weekend's games start at 7:05 pm as well, and tickets to all three contests are available now. Individual seats are on sale through Ticketmaster at 318-741-9700 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Group and flex ticket packages are available at the Mudbugs office inside CenturyTel Center or by calling 318-752-BUGS.
