Rocky Mountain's Colt King and Bossier-Shreveport's Jon Horrell Earn Weekly Awards

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Mar. 1st, 2009 are forward Colt King of the Rocky Mountain Rage and Jon Horrell of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
King had points in all three Rage games last week with two three-point games. He finished the week with three goals and four assists along with a +7 plus/minus rating. On February 25th, the Calgary, Alberta native scored a pair of goals including the game winner, added an assist and was a +4. He followed that up on February 27th with a goal and two helpers in the Rage's 4-2 win at Tulsa. He finished the week with an assist in his team's loss at Oklahoma City. On the season, the former fourth round selection of the Colorado Avalanche (2001) leads the Rage with 61 points and 26 goals.
Horrell has been the Mudbugs workhorse since February 10th when Ken Carroll left a game with an injury. Last week, Horrell earned points in three of the Mudbugs four games posting a 2-1-1 record allowing just seven goals. He finished the week with 115 saves for a .942 save percentage winning games versus Wichita and Texas. The Beckenham, England native started the week with a shootout loss at Oklahoma City despite making a season-high 44 saves. On the season, Horrell is 12-3-2 with a .916 save percentage.
In recognition of their achievement, both King and Horrell will receive a special gift from Oakley.
