SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Mississippi RiverKings announced Thursday that the team has signed forward Matt Beer to a contract. Terms and conditions were not released.

Beer, 25, has appeared in four games with the RiverKings this season and has one goal and three assists. The 6-foot, 205-pound native of Corunna, Ont. had been on a three-game tryout contract after earning a call-up from Port Huron of the Federal Hockey League. In seven games with Port Huron, the second-year pro tallied two goals and two assists.

Beer replaces Matt Harrington who the team placed on the 30-day IR. Harrington had missed the last three games with an injury. The fifth-year forward had six assists in nine games for the RiverKings before his injury.
