Genoe Perfect as RiverKings Fall in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Kevin Genoe stopped every shot he faced and Jason Popek had a pair of goals as the Mississippi RiverKings (9-3-1) fell in consecutive games for the first time this season with a 4-0 loss against the Huntsville Havoc (9-5-0) on Thursday night.

The Havoc took the lead late in the first. John Lidgett's shot beat goaltender Peter Di Salvo on the power play with three minutes left in the first period to give Huntsville a 1-0 lead. Huntsville added to their lead midway through the second. Jason Popek pushed a loose puck past Di Salvo 7:53 into the second to put the Havoc up 2-0.

In the third, the Havoc extended their lead. Popek added his second goal of the night, this one on the power play, 11:29 into the third. Sixteen seconds late, the Havoc added an insurance marker on Jackson Brewer's third goal of the year.

Peter Di Salvo (5-3-1) took the loss after stopping 27 of 31 shots against. Kevin Genoe (6-4-0) stopped all 30 shots against. The RiverKings were 0-3 on the man advantage while Huntsville was 2-2.
