Mississippi RiverKings News Release
Bossier City, LA --- Dan Wildfong scored the only goal and David Cacciola stopped all 36 RiverKings shots as the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs defeated Memphis 1-0 Saturday night at Bossier City. The win dropped Memphis to 10 points behind the division leading Mudbugs in the Northeast Division.
Wildfong's goal at 9:14 of the second period was his 13th of the season and his seventh versus the RiverKings this season. Memphis out shot Bossier 35-26 for the game but could not solve goalie Cacciola, who notched his first pro shut out. Michael Dilorenzo played well in the nets for Memphis, stopping 25 of 26 shots, but took the tough-luck loss to fall to 5-2-1 on the season, 2-2-0 for the RiverKings.
The RiverKings fell to 14-19-1 on the season and 3-5 versus the Mudbugs with the loss. Four of the eight games between these teams have been decided by one goal, with three being decided by two.
In roster news, the RiverKings signed forward Taras Foremsky prior the game Saturday night. The third year pro started the season with Flint of the UHL and was most recently with Pensacola of the SPHL where he had five goals and 14 assists in 17 games. Foremsky played significant minutes in his RiverKings debut.
