RiverKings Announce Roster Moves

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that the team has activated defenseman Daniel Sobotka from the 30-Day Injured Reserve, placed goaltender Dan McWhinney on the 30-Day IR and waived forward Mike Hartviksen. The team has also claimed forward Burke Gallimore off of waivers from Bloomington.

Sobotka, 21, returns to the lineup after landing on the IR in January. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic appeared in 16 games with the RiverKings this season with three goals and five assists. Sobotka also spent time with St. Charles (CHL) where he appeared in 12 games and had two penalty minutes.

McWhinney, 28, appeared in 19 games for the RiverKings this season before being placed on the Injured Reserve. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound netminder posted an 11-8-0 record with a 2.32 goals against average and a 93.0 save percentage.

Hartviksen, 25, signed with the RiverKings on December 12 as a free agent. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Thunder Bay, Ont. registered one assist in 20 games with the RiverKings this season.

Gallimore, 23, appeared in 33 games with the Thunder this season and collected 14 points (7G, 7A). The 6-foot-0, 199-pound native of Edmonton, Alta. also skated in five games with the CHL's Wichita Thunder and tallied two assists.

The RiverKings return to the Landers Center on Tuesday night to take on the Huntsville Havoc at 7:05 p.m. for "$2 Tuesday." Fans can enjoy $2 off 16 oz. draft beers and $2 hot dogs, popcorn and 24 oz. fountain drinks. Tickets are available online at ticketmaster.com.
