
Mississippi RiverKings Vanquishes Huntsville in Shootout, 4-3

Daniel Sobotka scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Mississippi RiverKings picked up the extra point in a 4-3 (2-1 SO) win over the Huntsville Havoc.
The shootout lasted for 12 attempts between the teams. Huntsville got a shootout goal from Nick Lazorko. Mississippi RiverKings' other shootout goal was scored by Devin Mantha.
Mississippi RiverKings overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Mississippi RiverKings trailed 3-1 after a goal by the Havoc's Josh Harris at 11:22 in the second period. Mississippi RiverKings tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Patrick Schafer at 5:46 in the third period.
Mississippi RiverKings was led by Schafer, who registered one goal.
Mississippi RiverKings stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississippi RiverKings' defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking 18 shots. By firing 36 shots on goal, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 26.5 shots it averages per game this year.
Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Andrew Randazzo, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Matt Whitehead as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Brett Valliquette, Mantha, Mike Hayward, Phil Bronner, and Matt Harrington, who contributed one a piece.
The Havoc kept Mississippi RiverKings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Krahn made 44 saves on 47 shots.
Huntsville also got points from Lazorko, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Ray Ortiz and Eric Alexander, who each chipped in one.
Mississippi RiverKings incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jesse Kallechy made 32 saves for Huntsville on 35 shots. The Havoc incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
